CPF is looking for volunteers to act as online French tutors for children! This position is virtual, and tutors work with kids across Canada to help them maintain their French via Zoom.

Our amazing Virtual Tutoring Program began May 2020 and has worked with just over 1,200 kids. This program has been so successful because of our amazing volunteer tutors. Come join our group of international bilingual volunteers. We are currently looking for volunteers to serve in our fall 2021 program. Which will run from September to December. Best of all, the entire volunteer experience is from the comfort of your home and you get to set your own hours.

POSITION SUMMARY  

Canadian Parents for French is looking for volunteers to act as online French tutors for children enrolled in our tutoring programs available across to students between the ages to 6 to 14 anywhere in Canada. Tutors will help children by speaking in French and working to improve the child’s French in conversation, reading, and writing. Volunteers must be comfortable working with young kids and in both French and English. 

We are recruiting for volunteers who can dedicate 1.5 to 2 hours per week (minimum) for our ten-week long program. Volunteers choose their own schedule each week. This program runs 6 days a week. This program will run from throughout 2021 and 2022 and application are accepted on a rolling basis. Orientation and training (including Zoom training) provided to all volunteers. This position is virtual and tutors will work with kids across Canada to help them maintain their French via Zoom.  

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong spoken and written French and English is a needed. Tutors will be working in both official languages.   
  • Prior experience working with children and youth is encouraged.   
  • Must have access to a computer, laptop or tablet with a microphone and camera.
