Have you ever refrained from speaking French because your skills aren't quite "good enough?" THAT's language insecurity. We are proud to release a new advocacy-oriented research brief titled “Be Brave, Speak French”! The report addresses the insecurity experienced by some French language learners and speakers, its impact on students and teachers and recommendations to build linguistic security.

Because some things are simply better together, like English and French, the Linguistic Duality Network is launching a campaign that showcase the benefits of Canada’s two official languages.

Students across Canada shared their experience with the pandemic in the virtual competition #EnsembleàDistance. For the first time ever the CPF public speaking competition, Concours d’art oratoire, was a virtual contest with participants submitting videos.

ACFO Ottawa awarded CPF a grant of $22,000 for a one year period starting immediately. One of the priorities in the Government of Canada's Action Plan for Official Languages – 2018-2023, is to support initiatives that enhance the bilingual character of Canada’s capital.
