The French Immersion Program in Manitoba aims to develop confident, plurilingual global citizens and is offered in 115 public schools across 23 school divisions. There are no independent French Immersion schools. The program features two delivery models: single-track (entire school population in French Immersion) and dual-track (French Immersion and English programs coexist). Entry points include Early Immersion (Kindergarten or Grade 1), Middle Immersion (Grade 4), and Late Immersion (Grade 6 or 7). Benefits of enrolling in French Immersion include cognitive enhancement, early bilingual proficiency, cultural enrichment, improved communication skills, academic excellence, better career opportunities, easier travel, long-term cognitive health, strong cultural connections, and personal growth. The enrollment process involves researching schools, contacting and visiting them, preparing documents, and submitting applications.
